Hello Dear Friends of the Fort, and welcome to our August Newsletter! This month has flown by and we're looking forward to September for a multitude of reasons. From the release of Starfield to our kids returning to school, we're sprinting toward the fall months full-speed ahead.
We want to apologize as August has been a slow month Content wise for us. Between having 3 boys at home and tons of family events, it's been a stretch just getting to play games in the evening, let alone make content for them. That said, we've finally caught up on our Backlog of Content Creation and are excited to be scheduling for the future.
As we're at the end of the month, we'll be aiming to keep this letter on the smaller side and bringing you another Newsletter packed with information on September 1st. Don't worry, we've packed plenty of Upcoming Content, Games, and Pillow Fort Updates into this one to keep you busy, so let's get started...

New Game Releases
Now... let's get to the good stuff, and by that we mean all the games that have come out! Here’s a list of titles that came out in recent weeks that The Pillow Fort had been keeping our eyes on for the community. All titles featured here are those with Positive or higher reviews, so rest easy knowing that we've vetted these games to be of higher quality.
Verne: The Shape of Fantasy - Interactive Narrative Fiction, Puzzle

We're not going to include things like Baldur's Gate 3 on this list as we're pretty sure our community is well aware of the Triple-A Titles coming out and we want to ensure we're highlighting the games that are likely being missed because of those titles.

Upcoming Game Releases
If you've been following the Pillow Fort for the first part of the month, you've probably seen our list of Upcoming August Releases on Steam, but if not, click below to see what's coming out. We'll be preparing September releases this week to have for our next Newsletter, coming September 1st.
The Watch & Wishlist
There's always something new being added to our Watch & Wishlists and this month there was a LOT. We spent quite a bit of time scouring Steam for Popular Upcoming Releases, as well as a few titles that were buried beneath the pile.
The best way to find Upcoming Games or Recent releases to love is by visiting our Steam Curator page and seeing what's new. We regularly update our many lists to make game browsing even easier. We'll include a few links below to make your life easier.
We've curated specific lists for Upcoming titles of each Genre. Click on "All Lists" above, select your favorite genre, and enjoy browsing! Please note though that we curated over 100 titles today and are working on getting them added to our Upcoming Lists, so check back later tomorrow for even more awesome Upcoming games.
Pillow Fort Updates & Achievements
TikTok Growth - We'd like to give a HUGE thanks to those that have been contributing to our recent TikTok success! We might have to start identifying as TikTok creators if it keeps up at this rate as we've seen a 68% increase in followers in the last 30 days alone. We're pushing towards hitting 1K as soon as possible in order to Stream on the platform, so if you aren't following the Pillow Fort on TikTok and want to support, visit our page HERE.
August Game Release Recap - With a huge amount of August releases seeing so much success, we'll be crafting a video to deliver to you on September 2nd that highlights all the best games of August. This will be the biggest video project we've undertaken and are excited to tackle it, so wish us luck! It's likely that it's a model we'll implement every month as there are just too many good games to cover, but we can at least highlight them all once a month. Make sure you're subbed to the YouTube Channel in order to get notifications when new content is released.
Palia - We haven't been shy about our recent time in Palia. We originally received access to the Playtests, Alpha, and Closed Beta, and now that the game is in Open Beta, we're excited to share it with our community. We do plan on creating a decent bit of Content for it including an official Review, and a new player Guide / Walkthrough. It's likely that this is a title we'll be monitoring for its lifetime so if you're looking for Creators that will be providing coverage and support for it, look no further.

Starfield - If you don't know what Starfield is, and you're a gamer, then honestly we'd be shocked. If you're like us though, you've known that the next giant Bethesda IP is coming and have been preparing for it all year for it.
While some people have been lost to Baldur's Gate, we're not ashamed to say that's a title we left off our list, just as we did Diablo 4. Simply because spending $140 on Triple A titles (2 copies) that we won't have time to truly play and enjoy just isn't something we want to do. As our Brand grows, so do the amount of requests that come in and we'll be the first to admit that we weren't expecting things like Content & Coverage requests from both fans and developers after only 7 and a half months of operating. It's our reality now though and we've had to reject not one, but multiple in the last few weeks and that has us considering the games we play, and especially buy, a lot deeper.
Why is all of this information relevant to Starfield? Because we don't want to cover anything we're not passionate about from the start and we don't want to speak on the amount of hours both of us here at The Pillow Fort have in Skyrim. The idea of Skyrim in space is so appealing that we're a bit worried we'll be lost to it. Our souls consumed, never to produce anything but Starfield content again. It's a joke, obviously, we love game hopping too much to ever let a game consume us. We broke out of World of Warcraft after over 20K + hours so we're confident we can put any game addiction on hold to continue doing what we love... producing Content and Game Reviews for our community. That, and we have kids so... we get reality checked at least 100 times per day.
Moving on to a more serious note, we will be producing plenty of shorts related to Starfield and will of course bring you a Review. We're absolutely positive there will be either Informational or Guide style videos, and it's possible there could be some Let's Play style videos as well, so stick around the Pillow Fort to find out about that in the future.
Paid Services - While we need to specify that we're unsure when these are coming, we are looking into offering paid services such as Mock Reviews and paid time slots. While we will never accept payment or incentives for positive reviews, we are going to allow Developers and Publishers to book time slots and varying levels of coverage for their games.
One thing to note about paid time slots is that we will only ever make 1 of our weekly slots available to book and there will also be times that are completely unavailable due to us blocking them out for scheduled releases that we know we're covering. Our community and their requests will always take priority so we apologize ahead of time for any inconvenience. This is of course much more of a sneak peak bit of information and we're still working through a lot of details, so while these are things to look forward to, they're still a work in progress.
